Roy Degler does not lose his award!!
We need to send out a shout of congratulations to Roy Degler. He won the
Oklahoma Library Association: OUTSTANDING NEW LIBRARIAN AWARD.
This award is granted to an individual librarian in recognition of significant contributions to the profession of librarianship and potential for professional development. The recipient of this award must have five or fewer years of experience as a professional librarian, with at least two years of experience within the state of Oklahoma. Consideration will be given to leadership in innovative and exceptional programs or services.
I had the privilege to see Roy receive this award at the Oklahoma state conference. He was completely surprised about it. He told me that when they were reading about the person who would receive it, he thought it sounded like him or Dan Chaney. However, he knew Dan was not there. So, they did surprise him! When I saw him the next day, he assured me that he did not lose his award either.
Congratulations to Roy!!
