The Garfield County Public Library District (GCPLD) is a well-funded library district in the stunning Western Slope of Colorado. Each of our six distinct municipalities has its own, relatively new library, open seven days a week. Over the next few years, we'll be tackling some key initiatives, and this new position will be essential to their accomplishment. Among them are:

  • Retooling our libraries to increase engagement with library and community resources, incorporating emerging and established technologies to liberate staff time for more meaningful and transformative interactions
  • Creating an institution that is more inclusive of and collaborative with our growing Spanish-speaking population
  • Launching a comprehensive community interview process, not only cataloging our community stakeholders and concerns, but taking leadership in setting a shared agenda to build a stronger community

Education and Experience Requirements:

Master of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Science degree, and, a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in public library management or public library administration.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $90,549 - $115,566, with actual pay placement dependent on qualifications and experience. The District pays 100% of Employee premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, and contributes to family coverage. The District also contributes 3% into your retirement plan, invests in your professional development, and provides paid time off to enjoy all that comes with living in beautiful Garfield County!
