Job Description or Duties:
The Web Services and Engagement Librarian develops and maintains the library’s web presence and leads the library’s engagement efforts through marketing and campus partnerships. In addition, all faculty librarians serve as departmental liaisons and provide reference & instruction services. The position reports to the Coordinator for Academic Services. Early career librarians are encouraged to apply. This is a twelve-month, tenure track faculty appointment reporting to the Coordinator for Academic Services.
Manages the Calvin T. Ryan Library’s web presence, either through direct development or through supervision of one FTE managerial/professional staff member.
Leads the library’s engagement efforts, which includes developing a marketing strategy; developing promotional material and social media engagement; and developing, leading, and/or fostering creative programming by library employees in collaboration with campus and community partners.
Provides research assistance and information literacy instruction to individuals and groups in the use of the library’s services and resources in person and electronically. Includes sharing evening and/or weekend reference duties. Maintains a high level of commitment to prompt, courteous service to all library clients.
Identifies and reviews new and emerging technology resources that may be adopted to enhance service.
Represents the University of Nebraska at Kearney on appropriate Working Groups of the University of Nebraska Consortium of Libraries.
Compiles, reports, analyzes, and assesses appropriate statistics for areas of responsibility.
Serves as a liaison to academic departments and programs and develops appropriate related research tools. Works with other employees in the development, execution, and promotion of library-related programs, special events, and exhibits that highlight Library resources and services and are supportive of university activities and initiatives.
Participates in service to the department, college, university, and community, as well as engage in continuing professional development and scholarly activity.
