Garfield County Public Library District is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, energetic, and versatile Branch Manager to lead the talented staff and volunteers of the Carbondale Branch Library.  


The ideal candidate will foster a creative and innovative work environment; be flexible and open-minded, with a constant desire to learn more; supports and cultivates staffs’ skills and interests to benefit the Carbondale Branch.  Additionally, the ideal candidate encourages staff well-being through a healthy work/life balance; adapts quickly to change; is a creative problem-solver and effectively communicates to all levels of the Library District.

This position is responsible for providing daily supervision of all aspects of public library services for the branch including but not limited to: collection development, reader's advisory, programming, community outreach and adult and youth services.

The minimum requirements for this position include a MLS or MLIS degree from a graduate school accredited by ALA, previous supervisory/leadership experience and knowledge of the principles and practices of public library functions.

This is a full time (40 hours per week), exempt position. The hiring range is $52,000 - $66,560 annually (DOE), plus medical, dental, vision and retirement plan benefits; paid vacation, sick and holidays.  


Some nights and weekends may be required.
