Summary: This position is part-time and involves a wide variety of tasks as needed and assigned in the Interlibrary Loan office of the Collections Department. This position is a stand-alone position and may not be combined with another Library Aide position.

This position is entry level.


Language Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 


Reasoning Abilities:

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Certificates and Licenses:

None required.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment: 

Work is performed indoors in a standard office environment.  The Circulation Aide is required to work a variety of scheduled hours including weekends.


Physical Demands: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The Circulation Aide is regularly required to sit, stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, reach, carry, push and pull, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl.  Must be able to push a fully loaded book cart weighing up to 150 lbs.  Must be able to lift weights up to 50 lbs.  Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and grasp books.  Must have correctable vision to read the computer screen and locate books on shelves. Must be able to perform the various tasks of the job, which requires continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and wrist movement.
