Library Manager II

Under the direction of the Regional Director, the Library Manager II provides leadership and direction for library staff at a medium-sized library; plans, organizes and manages all operations of the library including supervising staff. Assists users in the use of materials, equipment, and/or services provided by the library.

About the Metropolitan Library System: 

Governed by a 27-member appointed Library Commission, this large, diverse system of urban, suburban and rural libraries consisting of 14 full service libraries and four community libraries, serves 750,000 Oklahoma County residents. In 2016, MLS welcomed 2.9 million visitors and circulated 5.6 million items. With its vast array of programs, services and events, the Library promotes flexibility and change as it reaches out to the many communities throughout the County. The Friends of the Library raise funds, volunteer, and advocate for the Library and the Library Endowment Trust provides an excellent opportunity for contributions to be invested on a permanent basis.

This position will be assigned to The Village Library at 10307 N. Penn Ave., The Village, OK 73120. This library is located in the heart of Oklahoma City. It enjoys strong support from the city and the Special Friends of the Village Library. With quiet reading areas reminiscent of libraries from a previous era, the library maintains a thriving children and young adult customer base in its 14,044 square foot location.

Salary and Benefits: 

The hiring salary is: $58,323.20.  This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week.  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  Candidates should be available during library operating hours that include evenings and weekends.
