Pay: $40,000 salary annually

Job Qualifications: College degree preferred. Must have experience working in public, academic or special libraries. Excellent communication skills essential. Must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
About the Mid-America Library Alliance
The Mid-America Library Alliance, formerly the Kansas City Metropolitan Library and Information Network, was established in 1978 as a non-profit consortium serving the nine counties surrounding the Kansas City metropolitan area in Kansas and Missouri. MALA provides the backbone of the interlibrary loan and courier delivery service for public, academic, school, health sciences, and special libraries in the region. MALA offers high-quality professional development and training to its membership through collaboration with metro-area library staff, outside consultants, and professional organizations.
Develops, manages, and implements training programs targeting management, supervisory, and technical skills for library employees. Works independently and collaboratively with subject matter experts and leadership to identify new educational and developmental opportunities for library professionals. Coordinates and arranges training events by scheduling dates, venues, and other details. This position requires a high degree of personal magnetism and the ability to interact and communicate well with all levels of staff.
Knowledge of libraries and library development needs.
History of active engagement in professional associations or community organizations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in group and individual settings.
Experience arranging and implementing trainings or events.
Experience facilitating professional learning (teaching, training, or consulting).
Experience in collaborative professional settings.
Ability to leverage technology tools to enhance professional development.
Experience using web-based, computer-based, and face-to-face training techniques to support a
comprehensive and tailored training curriculum.
Familiarity with needs analysis, program content development, training design, adult learning
principles, and training evaluation.
Proficiency with computers and software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, GoToMeeting, WebEx,
Zoom, or similar online conferencing tools), online scheduling tools.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Results orientation and high personal accountability.
